FAQ
Containers are big.The answers don’t need to be.
Questions about sharing Container space, sourcing, pricing, reservations, or what happens when plans change? Here are the straight answers.
01
Sharing a Container
How it works, Container selection, compatibility, what happens if plans change, and how ShareMyOrder compares.
We help businesses buy what they need without having to fill a whole Container themselves.
Tell us what you need and where it needs to go. We help connect the source, your order, and suitable Container space.
Other compatible orders can use the rest of the Container.
No.
That is the point.
Your order uses the space it needs. Other suitable orders can use the rest.
Yes.
Sharing removes the requirement to take a whole Container. It does not remove the option.
If you need the full Container, you can take it.
Yes.
You can browse available Containers yourself, or we can look for a suitable one for your order.
No.
We only put orders together when they can travel together.
Route, destination, timing, product compatibility and available space all matter.
Tell us what you need anyway.
We can check whether another option works, whether a new Container makes sense, or whether your requirement should wait for a suitable match.
Departure depends on enough suitable confirmed orders and the shipment being ready.
We’ll make the current fill level, timing, cancellation rights and available options clear as the order progresses.
Cancellation rules apply at agreed stages.
If another order drops out, we’ll explain any effect on timing, replacement options and the shipment.
Not quite.
A freight company usually starts once the goods are already organised for shipping. ShareMyOrder starts earlier.
For buyers, we can provide access to the source and help bring suitable orders together so the shared shipment can happen.
02
Pricing & Reservations
Estimates, final pricing, reservations and cancellations.
Because some parts of the shipment may still be changing.
The first price is an estimate.
We tell you what is known, what can still change and when the price becomes final.
A reservation holds the agreed Container space for your order according to the Reservation Terms.
It is the point where your order moves from an option into an agreed commitment.
There is an agreed period when you can cancel without a penalty.
After the agreed deadline, cancellation penalties may apply.
You’ll see the applicable terms before you commit.
Not when you are sharing it.
You buy the amount you need and pay your agreed share of the Container and shipping costs.
03
Sourcing
How we source products, what’s available and where we can work.
No.
ShareMyOrder gives buyers direct access to the source.
Tell us what you need and we help connect the product, source and shipment.
No.
Coffee is where we’re starting, but ShareMyOrder can work with products and routes globally.
Tell us what you need and where it needs to go. We’ll check what we can source and how it could move.
Great.
Tell us the product, quantity, destination and timing.
We’ll work out whether we can supply it and how it could move.
That is fine too.
You can browse what is currently available or contact us and talk through the requirement.
Coffee
Quality, specifications and what we’re starting with.
We’re starting with Brazilian green coffee.
Current Coffee Offers show the supply opportunities available through ShareMyOrder. The wider sourcing capability can be broader than the public catalogue.
We show the relevant coffee information available for the offer.
Where the process supports it, quality can also be checked through agreed specifications, samples and applicable quality checks.
No.
For the current coffee offer, our proof point is around $1/kg average saving against reasonably comparable traditional purchasing routes.
It is an average, coffee-specific and not a guarantee for every order.
For Traders
How we support traders and smaller client orders.
No. We’re on the same team.
ShareMyOrder helps traders make smaller client orders work when those orders do not fill a Container on their own. Bring the demand you already have. We help work out what can travel together and how shared Container space can make those orders easier to serve.
Combine the orders. Keep the relationships.
Yes, where the orders are suitable to travel together.
Bring us the client demand you already have. We’ll help work out what can share Container space and how those orders can move.
The goal is simple: help you say yes to smaller client orders that may otherwise be difficult to ship efficiently.
We’re not here to take over your customer relationships.
We only contact your customers where it is needed to support the order, shipment, or agreed commercial process. Any contact follows the commercial model agreed with you.
Customer ownership, communication, pricing visibility and responsibilities are agreed before the order begins.
No.
Commercial information remains protected according to the agreed permissions and trader model.
Privacy
Your information and what others can see.
No.
Other businesses sharing the Container do not see your private commercial information.
That includes your price, contract, margin and private commercial terms according to the agreed permissions.
You do not need access to another buyer’s private commercial information in order to share Container space.
We bring together suitable orders while keeping private business details private.
